I think the underlying layer wasn’t handled properly. Generally, before painting, especially when applying anti-corrosion coatings, it is necessary to remove rust and roughen the surface, as well as ensure that the surface is clean. For stringent requirements, rust removal to Sa2.5 grade is necessary, with an anchor pattern depth of 80–100, and the surface cleanliness level must be at least 40%
At the same time, oil removal is also required, using alkaline cleaning.
It’s mainly a problem with the paint formula, or improper use of the thinner and curing agent
There’s a problem with the underlying layer. There are two scenarios: first, if there is no primer, then impurities such as oil on the surface of the base layer prevent the paint film from adhering properly, so it doesn’t stick at all ； Secondly, there is an undercoat present; it’s likely that a two-component undercoat was used without a curing agent, and when the topcoat is applied, it pulls away from the undercoat, causing it to come off easily.
