How to manage finances: Making money grow

I hope the more experienced among you can share their thoughts. I’m planning to create a 5-year plan; I’ve been working for almost a year now and I want to start managing my finances. Apart from my meager monthly salary, what investment options are available? How is life for those who have graduated five years ago?
I’m not good at it; I keep everything that would result in losses in the bank, and invest some of it when the stock market drops. If there’s more, buy a house.
I also want to trade stocks, but I haven’t learned how yet.
After two years of working, I haven’t saved a single penny! Still having to ask my parents for money... How embarrassing! I want to save money and invest it. But the speed at which wealth accumulates is really fucking slow!
