I would like to ask the more experienced colleagues: under normal conditions, what are the consumption levels of soda ash, tannin, and aluminum pentoxide in the tannin desulfurization system?
It’s hard to say, as the material consumption in the desulfurization system is closely related to the specifics of your process. The key is to keep an eye on the relevant indicators. Our company has two desulfurization units that are pretty similar to each other; however, due to differences in the processes used, the consumption levels differ by a factor of two. Alkali consumption is generally 1.6 Kg/TNH3, vanadium consumption is 0.02–0.036 Kg/TNH3, and tannin consumption is usually around 0.08–0.1
Our plant uses tannin plus PDS in this process; the consumption is 1.5 Kg of soda ash per TNH3, 0.01 Kg of vanadium per TNH3. The amount of tannin used is generally 0.18 Kg per TNH3, while that of PDS is 0.001 Kg per TNH3 – these values represent relatively high consumption levels
Not necessarily; it depends on your sulfur content. Different processing conditions result in different consumption levels. The consumption should be calculated based on the removal of 1 kilogram or 1 ton of sulfur, rather than based on the amount of ammonia produced.
Our company’s consumption of tannin is 0.8 kg/t(NH3), the alkali consumption is 2.5 kg/t(NH3), and the consumption of vanadium pentoxide is generally around 0.03 kg/t(NH3).
For enterprises with a high level of efficiency, the consumption of soda ash per kilogram of hydrogen sulfide removed should be around 0.5 kilograms. The alkali consumption for removing hydrogen sulfide per kilogram at the Henan Anyang Fertilizer Factory is 0.3–0.5 kilograms, which should be considered an advanced level.
