If there is air leakage at the weld seam from welding, how should it be repaired? If performing patch welding, how large should the groove be? Open and transparent or a landslide surface?
Apply soapy water to the surface of the pipe to locate the leak point; for pipes under low pressure, it is possible to repair them directly by welding. In the case of thin-walled pipes, welding is not necessarily required – Kafte metal repair compound can be used, and after it has cured over 24 hours, the repair can be completed. This metal adhesive can also be processed on a lathe after it has cured. For pipes under high pressure, please ask someone to point out the best welding methods.
If the leakage is minor and the pressure is low, it is recommended to use a hammer and chisel to strike the weld metal surrounding the leak, pressing on it in order to prevent the leakage. Or it can be treated directly using pressure-based leak sealing. For leaks in high-pressure pipeline welds, it is best to carry out plugging under pressure, or to weld a pipe fitting at the location of the leak; a valve is welded to the other end of this pipe fitting, or it is threaded. Once welding is complete, the valve is closed, or a plug is installed and tightened before being welded in place.
If there is no oil contamination at the leak site, it can be directly welded to fix the leak, or the area can be ground before welding it again; If it is under high pressure, it is best to re-weld and conduct flaw detection – high pressure is dangerous!
