When cleaning the filter, backblowing is required. What gas is best for backblowing – steam, nitrogen, or air?
When choosing a gas, several factors should be considered: 1. It should be able to clean thoroughly; 2. It should not damage the filter; 3. It should not cause secondary pollution. Air and nitrogen aren’t very different, right?
I think all of them should work. For materials that tend to crystallize, it’s better to use steam first and then gas; for explosive materials, nitrogen should be used instead
The purge gas should be selected based on the condition of your materials; not all gases can be used. For example, steam purge will introduce water vapor, and if water vapor is not allowed in the pipes, then air or nitrogen must be used for purging.
Steam it for a while first, and then use air to blow in the opposite direction; this will yield better results
Depending on the medium flowing through your filter, if it is nitrogen, nitrogen can be used directly as the backwashing gas; if it is a chemical material that tends to crystallize, steam cleaning can be considered.
Depending on the properties of the filtering medium, nitrogen is used for high-temperature oils and flammable/explosive substances, steam is suitable for substances that tend to crystallize, and air must not react with the medium nor cause contamination.
