On the drawings prepared by the design institute, some pipes are equipped with exhaust vents at their highest points, while others do not. What is the basis for determining whether an exhaust vent is needed at a pipe’s highest point?
Handling exhaust involves preventing the pressure inside containers and pipes from dropping below atmospheric level and causing damage when the material is emptied; it also involves venting any non-condensable gases when necessary
Used for venting after the steam pipe hydrostatic test
Depending on the properties of the medium being transported, exhaust valves and drain valves should be installed at both the highest and lowest points to prevent the formation of air pockets and liquid pockets.
It can be used before and after hydrotesting, as well as for venting air during pipeline maintenance
