Can composite steel plates be measured in thickness using an ultrasonic thickness gauge?
Sure, but the actual thickness of the composite panel differs from the theoretical value
Does that mean the measured thickness is not necessarily the actual thickness of the composite panel? Will the measured thickness be larger or smaller than the original? Can the error value be calculated? Then, add or subtract a certain value to the measured figure to obtain the actual thickness value.
The sheets originally have positive and negative deviations, and the thickness will also vary after explosive lamination; therefore, the composite sheets we purchase are verified solely based on the data provided by them
The new equipment has the thickness specified in the drawings; if it is to be used for around 10 years, its thickness should not be that of the drawings anymore. There should be corrosion at least. How is the remaining wall thickness of equipment manufactured using composite steel plates in use measured? This should be used as the basis for determining whether to conduct strength checks and pressure tests.
