Is the poster trying to simulate the settlement process? Aspen is a steady-state simulator and cannot calculate dynamic processes such as sedimentation velocity distributions.

The separation efficiency during the actual settling process is influenced by factors such as droplet size, settling time, and viscosity, which are not reflected in the separation modeled by Aspen. Aspen calculates steady-state results; in reality, it takes a long time for the process to approach or reach a steady state, and such a situation is usually not achievable. Settlement is a dynamic process, and it is best simulated using fluid simulation software.
