What is the function of the dual-channel design in centrifugal pumps? ? That person knows, please introduce them. Thank you. . .
Regarding the dual-channel system mentioned by the poster, does it involve water inflow from both sides? If so, the main consideration is the balance of axial thrust.
The dual flow channels in a centrifugal pump are, of course, intended to balance the axial forces. In this case, however, it is often the fluid at a higher level that causes it, but one of the reasons is the low pressure here, which leads to cavitation in the pump. Of course, if your medium is at a high level, it doesn’t matter; but in the case of self-priming systems, the likelihood of cavitation is high.
Reply to 3# play609: That’s true, but the degree of cavitation varies depending on the impeller. The impellers we used, which were not original, broke after just half a year. The original one can last for 3 years.
By dual-channel, the poster is probably referring to a twin-channel extrusion chamber, right? Its main function is to balance the radial forces generated by hydrostatic forces.
Double-suction pumps are designed to balance axial forces, while double-channel pumps are designed to balance radial forces
Others have designed it to increase inlet flow.

First, balance the axial force. Second, reduce the flow velocity through the impeller to prevent cavitation.
