How does CAD consolidate all the content from the old Layer A into the new Layer B?

As the title says. In CAD drawing, it is necessary to move all the content from the old Layer A to the newly created Layer B, and remove Layer A. Should the method involve directly mapping Layer A to Layer B, or should another approach be used?
Use quick selection QSELECT to select all elements of layer A and place them on layer B
I think the method you yourself came up with is the simplest and fastest one.
