Comparison of aluminum and iron flocculants

The surface water used in our factory is first flocculated using aluminum chloride polymer as a flocculant, and then treated through a water purifier before being used as water. I now want to change the flocculant – instead of polyaluminum chloride, I would like to use ferrous sulfate as the flocculant. I was wondering if any of you fishermen have used this type of flocculant before? How effective is it? Can we catch up with polyaluminum chloride?
As a typical flocculant, ferrous sulfate can be used in surface water treatment without any problems, and it yields good results; its effectiveness is even better when used in combination with chlorine.
