Can carbon steel be used for the materials of desalinated water pipelines, and will it meet the quality standards for boiler feedwater? 2. Is pickling necessary for the desalinated water pipeline (material: carbon steel)? 3. What are the advantages and disadvantages of PIG cleaning technology compared to chemical cleaning technology? 4. If PIG cleaning technology is advanced, why is chemical cleaning still more commonly used nowadays?
Personally, I think: 1. Carbon steel pipes cannot be used for desalination water pipelines. 2. PIG is generally used for line cleaning and scouring in long-distance oil and gas transmission pipelines. Chemical cleaning is generally used to remove floating rust in carbon steel pipes over short distances.
