During sulfuric acid leaching, it can be difficult to filter out silica gel; so what do you think – would it be okay to add some hydrofluoric acid to the sulfuric acid leaching process?

I’m not sure what system you’re using, but it should be possible to solve the problem by controlling the pH value at the end stage. Adding HF causes severe corrosion to the equipment, and it also poses environmental issues.

Hydrofluoric acid is also unlikely. The tailings I’m dealing with now contain a high level of silicon, and it seems that hydrofluoric acid isn’t very effective at dissolving it either for purification purposes.
