In accordance with the regulations of the MTBE Technical Cooperation Group’s charter, and following discussions held by the secretariat, it has been decided to hold the 9th annual meeting of the cooperation group in Shanghai in mid-October 2010. The relevant matters are notified as follows: 1. Meeting agenda: 1. Listen to and review the work report and financial report of the MTBE Technical Cooperation Group ； 2. Recognize active members and outstanding liaison officers of the collaboration team ； 3. Conduct technical exchanges and select and award outstanding papers ； 4. Discuss the 12th Five-Year Plan and key tasks for the near term of the MTBE Technology Cooperation Group. II. Topics for Paper Submissions at the Annual Conference 1. The scope of topics for paper submissions includes basic theoretical research, development and experimental studies, process design calculations and mathematical models, review articles, production experience, and summaries of plant modifications, etc. The focus is on the following aspects: · Comprehensive utilization of C4 resources and research progress · Improvements in MTBE processes and engineering design · Technical and economic evaluation of MTBE plants · Renovation and operation status of MTBE or related plants · Summaries of experience in starting up, shutting down, and optimizing the operation of MTBE plants · Development and trends in etherification catalysts · Development of downstream products from MTBE · Waste water treatment for MTBE plants 2. Requirements for paper submissions: ① The article should have a complete structure, substantial content, fluent and concise writing, as well as reliable data ； ② Write down the author’s name, mailing address, and brief biography ； ③ Use legal units of measurement. ④ The deadline for submissions is: July 30, 2010. All member organizations, as well as relevant colleges and universities, research and design institutions, and manufacturing companies, are invited to organize their relevant personnel to actively write articles and submit them enthusiastically.
