Why is it said that reducing the height of the gas generator jacket boiler affects the increase in the temperature in the lower combustion zone? ? ? ? ? ? ?
The height of the jacketed boiler in the gas generator is reduced, resulting in excessively high temperatures in the combustion zone. Without a jacketed section, there is no way for water to exchange heat with the heat generated in the combustion zone, which makes coking and deposition on the walls more likely to occur.
Since the upper part of the gas generator jacket is filled with a vapor-liquid mixture, which is the area where the jacket temperature is highest, the exterior of this upper part of the jacket corresponds to the distillation zone of the fuel layer. In this zone, heat is supplied by the heat from the upward-flowing gas as well as by the heat that diffuses outward from the vapor-water mixture in the upper part of the jacket; therefore, a reduction in the jacket height affects the increase in temperature in the fuel zone.
Since intermittent fixed-bed reactors are generally operated with a high-carbon layer, involving a large amount of steam blown from below and a thick combustion layer, if the height of the jacket is too low, the upper edge of the gasification layer will extend beyond the jacket and into the refractory layer, leading to wall deposits and scarring, which shortens the effective operating cycle of the gas generator.
