Adjustment of the reflux ratio at the top of the distillation column

Every time a distillation column simulation is performed, the reflux ratio obtained after convergence differs significantly from the actual reflux ratio. How can this be adjusted?
Personal opinion: 1. It’s possible that the thermodynamic approach chosen is not appropriate. 2. It’s possible that the number of theoretical plates assigned is too low
