This post was last posted by hesonchang214 on 2010-6-6 21:11. The editor asked a new question. Can RO reverse osmosis effectively reduce the TOC content? TOC is required to be ≤0.5ppm. However, the TOC of the water in my factory has reached 1.5ppm. What can I do?
The RO system may not work, so it is recommended to add a mixed bed.
Can mixed beds reduce TOC? I heard others say that using ultraviolet irradiation can reduce TOC. I don’t know where I can find the information.* Down

If it is organic matter, RO can remove it, but it is not recommended because it is afraid of bacteria growing and contaminating the membrane. If it is not organic matter, then what is the carbon source of TOC and what are its main parts?
An external company provides pure water for boilers. I don’t know the specific process. Our company requires TOC control. What equipment does it need to add?

It can be removed by RO. Basically, the TOC entering RO through UF and AC is about 3.3ppm. The effluent of primary RO can be reduced to about 0.4-0.6PPM. It is recommended to add a mixed bed, and the effluent TOC can reach about 0.1-0.4. Also, if you met the standards before, now you can perform alkali cleaning and other maintenance on the RO.
RO can remove part of TOC, but it is still a bit difficult for TOC ≤ 0.5ppm. It depends on the total TOC in your water.
