Our petrochemical plant is not large; it has few large-scale units, and the lubricating oil is stored directly in barrels. There wasn’t much used oil either, and the workshop dealt with it directly (it was probably taken away). In any case, it’s no longer allowed to be used.
We now uniformly order takeout deliveries; there is no recycling. If recycling were to take place, many of the specifications for the lubricant would no longer be met

It is very important that different types of lubricants be stored separately with clear markings; a dedicated storage area can be set up, and the various lubricants can be arranged there in an organized manner. The addition and use of lubricating oil shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of five fixed parameters and three-level filtration. Temperatures that are too low or too high have an adverse effect on lubricants; therefore, it is not advisable to store lubricants for long periods in places that are either too cold or too hot. Animal tests have shown that refined mineral oil lubricants have low toxicity, but the hazard of lubricants with additives increases, so caution is necessary. Even if new oil is non-toxic, deterioration and contamination during use can increase its harmfulness; therefore, care must be taken to avoid contact with the skin, and it must especially not be inhaled or ingested. If it comes into contact with the skin accidentally, rinse it off immediately with clean water. Treatment of used oil: The lubricating oil that has expired can no longer be used and must be treated as waste oil. This waste oil should be disposed of properly to prevent environmental pollution. Never pour used products down the drain, into tunnels or rivers, or discard them carelessly. These used oils should be collected and sent to a dedicated used oil treatment center for centralized processing; they can be reused or burned under controlled conditions, or they can also be incinerated. Buckets or bottles containing lubricating oil should not be discarded carelessly; they must be disposed of properly to prevent any negative impact on the environment.
Lubricating oil can carbonize after use. Sludge is formed, the acid value increases, and it can no longer be used. If there is no regeneration device, it can’t be used.
All the lubricants in our workshop are supplied in barrels and are stored uniformly in a clean oil warehouse; Personally, I think it’s not necessary to put it into the tank if there isn’t much lubricant available, as impurities can easily get introduced during that process ; As for the used lubricating oil, once a request is made to dispose of it, the company handles it centrally.
