How is an annual inspection carried out for liquid ammonia tanks? How should it be handled?
The inspection items are the same as those for the other three types of containers: internal and external inspections, weld inspections, wall thickness inspections, etc., as required
Liquid ammonia has a tendency to suffer from stress corrosion cracking; therefore, it is important to conduct non-destructive testing on the welds, especially in the heat-affected zone, using both MT and UT methods
The annual inspection mainly checks the appearance, safety accessories, and the implementation of management systems. No internal inspection is performed.
