The main function of the inlet adjustment of the ammonia synthesis system is to adjust the catalyst temperature of the synthesis tower. When the temperature is high, close the short-circuit valve small or fully. When the temperature is low, in addition to closing the small (fully closed) cold shock, open the short-circuit valve. If it is a turbine process, pay attention to the system pressure difference. It cannot be too small, otherwise the turbine will be easily damaged.
My personal understanding is that the system can be set up with a system approach. If it is a centrifuge, it is recommended not to use it to adjust it. It can adjust the turbine speed and anti-surge valve itself.
The so-called system inlet refers to the route where the raw gas does not pass through the internal heat exchange layer of the synthesis tower but goes directly to the reaction layer or bypasses the pipeline of the entire synthesis tower. How can I tell you that the system inlet and the cold shock pipeline of some units are the same? It depends on the process design and the synthesis tower. Each one is different. This line is generally not used under special circumstances to control the temperature of the reaction layer or is used when the original start-up catalyst is restored.
The system short-circuit is mainly used to adjust the circulation volume of the synthesis system into the synthesis tower. When the tower temperature drops, the short-circuit is opened to reduce the circulation volume. Otherwise, it is closed.
