Career prospects for those studying physical chemistry in design institutes

I would like to ask the more experienced colleagues: when working in a design institute, is it really important to have a relevant major? So, does working in a design institute for those who have studied physical chemistry mean there are few career prospects? Please share your thoughts – is there any room for development in this field within design institutes? Which areas might be better, such as feasibility studies, process engineering, piping, or others? Would it be more suitable to work at companies that specialize in process packages? I’d appreciate your opinions, thank you! ! ! (PS: Master’s degree holder, passed the basic certification exam for accounting)
