A few days ago, the radar level gauge of an oil tank suddenly returned to zero, but it returned to normal 3 hours later. Today it dropped back to zero from 13M again, what’s the reason?
There may be moisture in the junction box, usually seeping in through the cable connections! Check it.
Check what type of radar level gauge is being used. If it has a measuring rod, check whether the compression between the rod and the emission port is proper; if there is any looseness, the above situation will occur. In the case of a contactless type, such as those with antennas, it is necessary to rule out equipment inside the tank first (such as agitators or extension tubes), and a waveguide must be installed. Check whether the signal-to-noise ratio of the radar level gauge is within a satisfactory range; reset the threshold voltage to eliminate false echoes.
Has the liquid level entered the dead zone? It returned to normal after the level dropped.
