The dry gas desulfurization tower in the coking gas desulfurization unit experienced multiple pressure increases, with amine solution being carried into the dry gas liquid separation tank. This caused disruptions in the operation of the desulfurization system, resulting in substandard quality and significant fluctuations in the acidic gas, which affected the stability of downstream units. It also led to problems such as liquid presence in the dry gas and substandard product quality. The method we use is to cut it out and clean it. Does anyone have any good ways to avoid having to cut it out for cleaning, or to reduce the occurrence of this problem?
It seems to be an amine solution foaming phenomenon; try adding a defoamer; Is there any instability in the feed as well?
My analysis is as follows: 1. The dry gas contains a large amount of coke dust (which results from instability during the operation of the coke tower, causing the dust to be carried downstream). 2. The amine solution forms ammonium salts or gelates within the plant. It causes blockages. 3. Foaming can also have a certain impact.
It is mainly caused by coke powder in the dry gas stream; apart from cleaning, there seems to be no good solution, or one could consider improving the raw material separator to enhance its ability to remove solid particles, but this has not been tried yet.
