Currently, the liquid level in the tar box of one of my furnaces is quite high – it’s around 10 centimeters, which poses a risk of leakage – but the liquid levels in the other tar boxes are low. The cause has not yet been identified； Secondly, there is a considerable amount of light tar on the surface of the ammonia water in the tar box, and it cannot be eliminated; I seek an explanation ? ?
In our factory as well, there were cases of severe spraying of ammonia water accompanied by the formation of light tar; subsequently, the number of times oil is pressed in the mechanical clarification tanks of the chemical recovery section was increased to prevent the tar from emulsifying and to ensure better separation from the ammonia water. It will be fine if the ammonia solution contains tar! I hope it’s useful to you too!
If tar leaks from a single tar box, it is likely due to a problem with the control valve at the air intake or a blockage in that tar box. The opening degree of the butterfly valve needs to be adjusted properly; in case of a blockage, it is necessary to check through the cleaning holes.
Check the negative pressure pipeline for any deposits; if there are any, clearing them will allow the level of liquid in the tar box to be reduced.
The reasons may be as follows: The main reasons are 1) high temperature in the furnace top space, 2) excessive floating coal on top of the coal cake, 3) reduced height of the coal cake
Solution: Increase the height of the coal cake and reduce the temperature in the top of the furnace; continue normal ammonia spraying. Consequences of failure to address this promptly: 1) Shutdown, with flue gases rising from the rise pipe and the main cover; 2) Inability of raw gas to enter the negative-pressure pipeline. This issue needs to be resolved as soon as possible
Now the height of our coal briquettes is quite high, at 4.0 meters, and the temperature in the space above the furnace is around 800-820°C. Since this phenomenon occurred last time, I have inserted high-pressure ammonia solution into the cleaning holes around the tar box to clean them, and things are much better now – there is no more leakage of ammonia. However, compared to other tar boxes, the liquid level is still quite high!
