What is the difference in absorption efficiency and resistance between spherical arches and alloy steel grating plates in absorption towers?

The open area ratio of spherical arches is generally around 50%, while that of alloy steel grating plates is over 90%. I feel that alloy steel grating plates present less resistance and offer a better absorption effect; however, many experienced professionals in the sulfuric acid industry say that 50% is sufficient to meet the absorption requirements, and that the resistance does not increase significantly. Please share your opinions!
It won’t be very significant; the acid separation effect will be better.
