If the liquid level in the gasifier is high, will the composition of the syngas also change, just like when the slag outlet is blocked?
The liquid level in the gasifier has risen by 1 m, and the pressure has only increased by a few KPa; so the impact should be minimal. If the slag outlet is not blocked, it will not affect the residence time of the material, nor will it have any impact on the composition of the syngas
The higher the liquid level, the greater the contact area between the process gas and the quenching water. However, the phenomenon of water being carried in the gas becomes more pronounced as well, because the greater the distance between the liquid level and the baffle in the vaporization furnace, the faster the flow rate of water. In such cases, it becomes more difficult to separate the liquid water, so I think the problem of water being carried in the gas will be more severe.
A member of the forum once posted HJY2000, stating that quenching also has a certain impact on the composition of syngas. When dealing with water in the wash tower, we added water to the lower part of the tower; as a result, the inlet temperature of the black water circulation pump dropped by over 40 degrees, but the CO2 level hardly changed at all. It seems there’s a 0.1 increase.
