What type of pipes should be used for fire water, what type for fire foam mixtures, what type for fresh water, and what type for oily wastewater?
Ordinary carbon steel pipes are usually fine; they are non-corrosive. Otherwise, they couldn’t be used for extinguishing fires – if the fire wasn’t put out, it would first send firefighters to the hospital.
For fire protection pipes and fresh water systems, we generally use Q235-A steel pipes in our work
Exposed pipes for fire hydrants are generally made of galvanized steel pipes, while buried pipes use ductile iron pipes. Pipes for automatic sprinkler systems are also usually made of galvanized steel pipes.
