Dear seniors: Hello, thank you very much for taking the time to read my post despite your busy schedules! I graduated from university with a degree in chemical engineering in 2009. I am currently working at a technology development center owned by a state-owned enterprise – it has a nice name, but it’s basically just a facade; there isn’t much real work to do there, and the daily workload is quite light. These days, I feel bored at work and lack motivation; I can’t concentrate on learning anything in the office (after all, if I want to progress, I have to read books there). Yet at the same time, my mind is extremely distracted, and many times I simply can’t focus on reading at all. It’s really sad! ! Extreme physical and mental suffering. . . . . . I haven’t learned much so far, and I don’t know where to go if I leave. At the same time, the salary offered by the company is fairly good at the moment, so I’m not sure what to do ? ? ? ? :Dizzy: I humbly ask for your guidance from all the seniors and fellow sailors; I’m extremely grateful! ! ! :handshake Thank you
What I want to ask is: under these current circumstances, how can I adjust myself to lead a more fulfilling life that will be more beneficial for my future development?
Mindset is very important; be strict with yourself and stay down-to-earth
If the conditions are good and you don’t dislike your current job, then stay where you are! When you are very busy, you will find it hard to relax, and often it may be strenuous with no reward. What needs to be done now is to find one’s own direction.
Reply to 1# lishan871224: I think it’s possible to learn some related software or something; or one could ask others for advice to gain some experience.
Self-discipline is the most important quality for those engaged in technology research and development
The poster’s situation is a bit similar to mine, sigh
Thank you all for your advice. I’m also working hard to make changes in myself, hoping that this day will come sooner! Haha.....
