Today, the results for the registered assistant safety engineer exam in Beijing are available for checking. I’m still a bit confused – what is the actual value of this certificate? I hope those who are familiar with this topic can offer some guidance. Remarks: 1. Even with this certificate, one still needs to undergo training for safety management personnel organized by the Safety Supervision Bureau ； (Personally, I think this is unreasonable.) 2. When entering a large company, one is only recognized at the assistant level ； 3. The validity of the certificate is subject to regional restrictions ； 4. Certificates are categorized by industry, such as construction, hazardous materials, mining, and others; their use is restricted in certain employment situations ； 5. At present, many safety professionals do not have any certificates; they can work in safety-related roles after receiving training from the Safety Supervision Bureau just once. But once such a certificate is obtained, further training from the Safety Supervision Bureau is required. So what is the purpose of this certificate?
Are there also positions for assistant registered safety engineers? For registration, only engineers are eligible; there are no assistants.
There’s no such thing as a registered assistant safety engineer; I’ve never heard of it.
Taking the exam for an assistant position is simply asking for trouble. Either take the exam to become a certified professional, or don’t take it at all. Once you pass the exam organized by the Safety Supervision Bureau, you’re qualified anyway – what more is needed? For those who aren’t required to be certified safety engineers or whose employers don’t offer any extra benefits, it’s better not to take the exam. If you do take it, you’ll have to undergo further training every year, and you’ll also have to pay for it yourself – it’s really asking for trouble. For large companies where performance is good and certain requirements apply, you can simply take the exam to become a certified professional; it’s not a waste of effort to do so, after all, those companies offer compensation. It’s better not to take the exam if no such compensation is provided.
