During the normal shutdown of a distillation tower, is it appropriate to stop the steam supply first, or to stop feeding material first? I usually stop the steam first, add the material, and then stop it; the liquid from the reactor is returned, while the distillate is sent out.
These two stopped almost at the same time, right?
The procedures might be different; when stopping the operation, we usually first reduce the feed rate and then reduce the steam supply, while when increasing the load, we first gradually increase the steam supply before raising the feed rate, in order to prevent the distillate from the reactor from being of substandard quality.
Different processes require different operating procedures; if it is a temporary shutdown, it is better to stop the steam first and then the feed.
It depends on the conditions of the materials; generally, first reduce the flow rate and steam supply as well as the return flow, and then stop it
If the tower is used to remove light components and the bottom product is not allowed to contain excessive amounts of these components, then during shutdown the feed flow must be stopped first, followed by the steam supply, in order to prevent an excess of light components in the bottom product; If the tower requires that the product at the top contains no reformed components, then during shutdown, steam should be stopped first before feeding is halted. Actually, this is a detail issue.
We usually first stop the steam, then halt the feeding of finished products to improve the defective ones, and finally stop the feed supply! But the art is different; there might be differences!
