Some small tips for the Agilent 7820A

The Agilent 7820A is a new model that was introduced in 2009, and it is likely that more and more organizations will use this model in the future. Our company has acquired several units of this type this year, and I would like to share some of my experiences with its use with all of you here. 1. The configuration of the split/non-split injection port, capillary column, and FID is no different from that of the 7890A during use; we can only perform routine analyses, so the advantages of the 7890A are not evident (hehe). Apart from a slightly slower cooling rate, everything else works just fine. 2、There is a problem with the configuration of the packed column injection port, the packed column, and the FID; the carrier gas control mode only offers flow control, with no pressure control option. 3. The EZChrom workstation used with the 7820A is rather cumbersome to use; it took us a long time to become proficient with it and to get used to it.
