The distance from the DCS control cabinet to the operator station is about 300 meters. How should it be connected? Only one operator station, that is, one computer! Can ordinary twisted pair fulfill the task!
Let’s see what kind of interface it is! RS232: about 15m ； RS485: around 1000m ； TCP/IPC: around 100m! It is estimated that LZ will need to add repeaters, or use fiber optic media for transmission.
For those RJ45 connectors with 8 wires, it seems I really need to study fiber optics!

1. Coaxial cable can be used: 185 meters for thin cables, and over 500 meters for thick cables. These values need to be verified again, as memory may not be accurate. 2. Twisted pair cable can be used, with an optoelectronic isolator relay in between (the relay requires power supply). 3. It is recommended to use fiber optic cable, as it eliminates the need for grounding, is not susceptible to interference, and is more reliable (make sure the splicing is done properly, and reserve an additional interface in case of emergencies)
