Are there any safety distance requirements for the arrangement of high-temperature and low-temperature heat exchangers in atmospheric and vacuum distillation units?
No safety distance requirements were seen. Generally, the following requirements need to be met: a) Meeting process and environmental protection requirements ； b) Facilitate production operations ； c) Ensure safe production ； d) Facilitates construction and maintenance ； e) Strive for economic rationality ； f) Pay attention to neatness and aesthetics.

I raised this question mainly because the fire protection codes for petrochemical design require a safety distance between equipment whose operating temperature exceeds its dew point and other equipment. However, since there are numerous heat exchangers in atmospheric and vacuum distillation units, taking this requirement into account would make the layout of those heat exchangers very complicated and would also require a large amount of space. I’m curious about how this is taken into consideration during the layout process
