Dear sea friends: Let’s discuss cold hydrogenation catalysts – is a single catalyst better or a combination, and which type of combination is preferable?
A single one is good, but the performance of combinations can actually affect each other
I don’t know how much catalyst you’ll be able to recover in the end; it doesn’t matter whether it’s single or combined, if it can’t be separated at all. Use the one that leads to a more significant increase in your conversion rate. If the conversion rates are not very different, choose the one with fewer heavy metal components. But it’s best to choose the type that allows for complete separation, as this has less impact on the subsequent products
I heard it’s very difficult to separate the catalyst; I’m not sure if that’s true. If money is available, ceramic membrane separation can be used later; it yields good results but is costly.
Ceramic membrane separation cannot separate such a large amount of silane mixture; the ceramic membranes currently developed can only be used for separation under low temperature and pressure conditions. It can’t withstand high temperatures, let alone a pressure of over twenty kilograms
