How to remove suspended solids from wastewater

Our wastewater contains many solid particles that cannot be precipitated, and they need to be removed. I’m not sure what method to use; I hope fellow netizens can offer some suggestions.
Natural sedimentation does not yield good results; it is possible to use coagulants such as PAC along with flocculants such as PAM, allowing these substances to mix thoroughly with the wastewater. This helps to encapsulate the suspended particles in the water, enabling them to settle together. Other methods such as air flotation and filters are also feasible.
Our factory carries out simple treatment on the raw water, that is, river water. Coagulants are added to the water drawn from the river; larger suspended particles form floccules that float to the surface and are separated therefrom, while the cleaner water from the lower layer enters an intermediate tank before passing through a mechanical filter. This simply treated water is sufficient for use as industrial water with modest requirements. Regarding what LZ mentioned, whether flocculants can be used to treat the suspended solids.
