Dear sea friends, how do you carry out planned shutdowns of boiling furnaces and the cleanup work in case of abnormal furnace failures? What is the typical cleaning cycle? What methods can be used to save time and reduce workload?
It is mostly done manually, which involves high labor intensity and harsh working conditions; Those who have good methods, please share them.
We clean them all using a fan in front of the furnace, without the need for manual cleaning; aside from poking the holes in the air cover, it saves time and effort.

If the furnace bed sticks, the workload will be even greater. The furnace cleaning cycle also depends on the downtime; it can be completed in as fast as 5 or 6 shifts. It will take a little longer for those over 100 square meters

Reply to 7# Purple Sky: 2-3 years? Is the wind cap opening unobstructed? Is the wind cap not severely worn? Has there been any instance of a dead furnace? How do you manage to achieve this?
Our factory also relies on manual cleaning; we are looking for better methods for cleaning. In our case, the slag adhering to the furnace walls is very strong, which makes the cleaning process extremely labor-intensive. It generally depends on the circumstances, but at least the temperature inside the furnace needs to drop before anyone can enter.
The fan is capable of generating a strong airflow, and by adjusting it during operation, the environmental requirements can be met; it’s definitely better than having people do the work manually! What’s left can only be done manually! I haven’t found any good solution yet! It would be even more troublesome if it scarred or the water tank leaked! We can’t avoid cleaning for 2-3 years; the wind caps will always have problems!
