Distinguishing between isolated and non-isolated signals

For the current output of field instruments, how can one determine whether it is an isolated signal or a non-isolated signal? Our instruments support dual analog outputs, and it is normal to adjust each signal individually; however, it becomes abnormal once they are connected to the DCS input terminals at the same time. The user says that signal isolation is not implemented at the output side, but how can one determine directly whether the two analog outputs are isolated or not? I would appreciate everyone’s advice.
