Which refineries have residue hydrogenation and wax oil hydrogenation units? Which catalysts are used in each case? If anyone knows, please let me know. Thank you in advance
Qilu Petrochemical has residue hydrogenation and wax oil hydrogenation units, and Hainan Refining & Chemical also has them; There are five units for residue hydrogenation plants across the country, and information on them may be available in some relevant materials ; I’m not exactly sure either!
It seems that Qilu Petrochemical also has a wax oil hydrogenation unit
Qilu Petrochemical, Hainan Refining & Chemical, Maoming Petrochemical, and Dalian West Pacific carry out residue hydrogenation. Wax oil hydrogenation is now available in the refineries of Sinopec and CNPC; Hainan Refining & Chemical does not have wax oil hydrogenation – only residue hydrogenation. Residue hydrogenation facilities at Shanghai Petrochemical are under construction
Maoming Petrochemical’s residue hydrogenation unit is the first in the country to use domestic technology.
Many refinery residue hydrogenation units are under construction
Catalysts for residue hydrogenation are generally provided by the China Academy of Petroleum Sciences and the Fushun Research Institute; among foreign companies, Chevron, UOP, and Yabao offer such catalysts. Catalysts for paraffin oil hydrogenation are more commonly used by the Chinese Academy of Petroleum Sciences.
Coker oil hydrogenation at Fuyan Research Institute; paraffin oil hydrogenation at Shihua Academy of Sciences
There are five in total, and many of them are currently in use. Including our unit. I am currently looking at the design report.
Hydrogenation of residue oil seems to be the trend; in the future, the feedstock will be directly hydrogenated
What other crude oil hydrogenation projects are under construction or being built in the country?
