Discussion on the size of the chlorine pipeline in the accident

In the several batches of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda produced by our factory, positive and negative water seals have been installed to prevent large positive or negative pressures of chlorine gas from affecting the system. The chlorine gas pipes connected to these water seals are one to two sizes smaller than the main chlorine gas pipeline. I would like to ask fellow experts: is it necessary to increase the size of these pipes to match that of the main pipeline?
Not necessarily; it mainly depends on the capacity of the alkali absorption tower for treating accident chlorine. The pipes used in our company are made of fiberglass with a diameter of 400 mm, which is generally sufficient for material transfer; it is used in a caustic soda production plant with an annual output of 360,000 tons.

At the time of the accident, electrolysis, chlorine treatment, and hydrogen treatment were interconnected; the electrolysis unit operated in circulation mode, as did the hydrogen delivery unit, while the emergency chlorine treatment system was activated. Only after the accident was resolved did these three processes resume their interconnected operation.
