The energy changes associated with the recycled water at these points are calculated, and all such energy changes for the various points using recycled water are aggregated together. Considering that the temperature difference between the water entering and leaving a cooling tower is usually around 8–10 degrees, the actual required flow rate of recycled water can be determined by applying energy balance principles. It should be noted that the capacity of the cooling tower and the flow rate of the circulation pump need to be matched

You can obtain the relevant information from manufacturers of cooling towers. Generally, cooling towers result in a small increase in the temperature of the water within the system cycle; they are designed with a temperature difference of 3–5°C, though this varies depending on whether it is a packed tower or an open tower
