Does the belt roller mentioned by the poster refer to the driving wheel and driven wheel of the belt conveyor? If so, then its principle is the principle of belt transmission. Belt transmission is composed of a driving wheel, a driven wheel and an annular belt tensioned between the two wheels. An initial tension is created in the belt due to tensioning ； Pressure is created between the contact surfaces of the belt and pulley. When the driving wheel rotates, the friction between the contact surfaces drives the belt to move, and the belt similarly drags the driven wheel to rotate.
