The electrodes of the Mettler pH meter I used 10 years ago were placed in distilled water after they ran out, and they have continued to work well. However, the newly purchased Mettler acidity meter electrodes (PE20, SG2) showed a decrease in electrode slope after less than half a year of use. After soaking in dilute hydrochloric acid for 10 minutes, rinse with deionized water
To ensure a long service life, it should be cleaned and maintained regularly
This post was last edited by xjc635 on 2010-6-24 at 20:18. Sometimes, after titrating samples with high acidity, it is easy to titrate solutions with low acidity. If samples with low acidity are titrated continuously, it sometimes becomes impossible to complete the titration.

Different materials have varying effects on the electrodes, and it is important to perform regular cleaning and maintenance based on actual usage.
Wash it thoroughly with distilled water after each use, and soak it in a saturated solution of \"potassium chloride\" when not in use. The lifespan of the electrode is one year.
