Let’s discuss the factors that affect the compressor’s air volume during summer production. What methods can be used to address these issues?
It is likely that the atmospheric temperature during summer is higher than usual, the temperature of the circulating cooling water is also higher than normal, which results in a poor cooling effect on the compressed gas; this leads to an excessively high inlet temperature of the compressed gas and affects the amount of compressed gas produced.
The main reason is the high ambient temperatures in summer, which result in high temperatures of the semi-water gas or water gas. This leads to a lower intake volume of the compressor. Additionally, due to the high temperature of the circulating water, the inter-stage cooling effect of the compressor is poor, thereby affecting its gas delivery capacity. As a solution, we once installed spray water at the point where the compressor connects to the pipeline, which had some effect during startup. In addition, the water coolers should be scheduled for cleaning properly.
In summer, the high temperature of the gas entering the compressor leads to a decrease in its pumping capacity. The solution is to reduce the temperature of the gas exiting the desulfurization unit; this is achieved by lowering the washing temperature in the desulfurization wash tower, as well as increasing the amount of water used for cooling the exhaust pipes and the compressor cylinders.

The main factor affecting the compression capacity of a compressor in summer is temperature. High ambient temperatures in summer lead to higher temperatures of the cooling water, which in turn hinders the reduction of temperature in various sections of the compressor, resulting in a decrease in its compression capacity.
In summer, the room temperature and the water temperature in the circulation system are high. When the temperature is high, the density of gases increases, which results in a decrease in the volume of gas actually inhaled, thereby reducing the amount of air pumped in! This can be solved by lowering the cooling water temperature! Increase the inlet pressure, or increase the cylinder size if possible!
