In the Texaco process, the associated conversion process is usually a three-stage, wide-temperature, sulfur-resistant conversion. What is the treatment method for the condensate from this conversion in the third water separator? This condensate contains ammonia; let’s first discuss our treatment approach: it is sent to the boiler for use in flue gas desulfurization. Everyone, feel free to share your opinions
Ammonia is extracted into the ammonia vaporization tower and then sent to gasification for reuse.
Here, it is also sent to the stripping tower, but the ammonia-containing gas is sent to sulfur recovery for burning!
Ammonia is problematic as it reacts with CO2 at room temperature, causing blockages in the pipelines. In sulfur recovery processes, the CO2 content in the acidic gases is 70% – won’t that cause blockages?
For the gas, we sent it to the ammonia flare for venting; originally we planned to send it to the ammonia tank to be used as ammonia solution, but not that much of it was needed.
Back to Floor 4: We indeed are! Here, the ratio of ammonia to CO2 in the gas emitted is roughly 1:1. We have heat tracing designed here, all the way up to the sulfur recovery burner.
