Reply to 2# flay0303: The amount of sodium sulfate decahydrate we have is not large, and it requires a lot of energy to convert it into Glauber’s salt; therefore, it’s not economically viable. That’s why we are considering the market for sodium sulfate decahydrate; many users add Glauber’s salt to water for use. If a way can be found to prevent sodium sulfate decahydrate from caking, it will benefit both us and our customers. Of course, this presents certain difficulties for those who need to transport the product over long distances.

The reason for the caking of sodium sulfate decahydrate is that it is produced at low temperatures; typically, sodium sulfate decahydrate contains 5–8% of non-crystalline water. After production, some of the sodium sulfate dissolves, and as the temperature rises, more sodium sulfate dissolves while water evaporates, which leads to caking. I believe that to prevent caking of sodium sulfate decahydrate, it is necessary to control the temperature, but this approach is not very cost-effective. The best solution is to produce Glauber’s salt instead. Or use it before it clumps!
What was said upstairs is correct – in winter, we can store the product for 10 to 15 days without it clumping together. As the temperature rises, clumping becomes more and more severe; now, water often leaks out of the packaging bags, making storage difficult. But it is basically impossible to use it before it clumps together, as clumping is inevitable due to the need for manufacturers to keep inventory for transportation and use. I wonder if other Sichuan friends have any good suggestions. If we are successful, we would be happy to share this achievement with everyone.
Before use, just crush it with a crusher and then use it, right?
