For a heat transfer oil medium under operating conditions of 300 degrees Celsius and a pressure of 10 kilograms, can 150-pound pipe fittings be used? Which standard is used for 150-pound pipe fittings? Is it MSS-SP-114-2007?
It depends on the material used; each material has a different allowable stress. Some materials can meet the requirements of your operating conditions, while others cannot. Moreover, given your operating conditions, if design pressure and temperature are taken into account, the required values should be even higher – 150 lb is not sufficient
The material of the pipe fittings is 316L stainless steel, and the temperature and pressure are the design temperature and design pressure； There are no issues with standard ASME B16.34-2000 flanges, threads, and welded-end valves; however, there are some problems according to standard MSS-SP-114-2007. Yet this standard does not specify the material of the pipe fittings. So which standard should be used as a reference? ?
150 pounds is not acceptable; at 300°C, the maximum impact-free pressure for most materials is only 1.0 MPa.

Reply to 5# ggld4421: It is better to use flanges with a capacity of 300 pounds, as heat transfer oils usually have relatively large diameters. Features such as threads and quick connections are suitable for small diameters.
