I’m not sure if your gasification furnace is equipped with a slag crusher anymore. It’s easier to get clogged if a slag remover isn’t installed. Furthermore, it can reduce the slag discharge time and increase the number of cycles of the slag locking tank

There are many reasons that can cause clogging at the slag outlet. In terms of operation, it is important to maintain stability in the working conditions; the oxygen-coal ratio plays a key role here. Analysis should be conducted daily to determine the ash content of the coal being used (for every 1% increase in ash content, oxygen consumption increases by 0.8%). If there are changes in the quality of the coal, the oxygen-coal ratio should be adjusted promptly. After making such adjustments, it is necessary to examine the condition of the slag sample as well as the way in which the furnace discharges slag. The amount of flux to be added should be determined based on the ash content of the coal; it is not fixed. If the ash content is below 10%, the amount of CaCO3 required can be reduced by 50%~70%. The quench water volume is maintained at LOP

Everyone involved in gasification hopes to ensure a stable supply of raw coal, maintain consistent coal quality, source coal from designated large mines, and strengthen oversight of the stages involved in supplying raw coal in order to prevent fraud by transporters. Ideally, raw coal should be transported in bulk by train, thereby reducing the number of intermediaries and eliminating the possibility of fraud by middlemen, thus ensuring stability in both the quality and quantity of raw coal ;
Reasons affecting slag port blockage: 1. If the operating temperature of the gasification furnace is too low, the fluidity of the slag decreases, causing it to accumulate more and more at the conical slag port, which in turn leads to a reduction in the size of the slag port. 2. Unstable operation of the gasifier results in large fluctuations in the oxygen-coal ratio and furnace temperature. 3. Poor-quality coal has high viscosity-temperature characteristics, and the sludge has slow fluidity; this was not detected in time during operation, resulting in blockage of the slag outlet. The viscosity-temperature characteristics of normal coal are generally between 1500–2500 MPa·s. 4. Before shutting down the gasification furnace, the furnace temperature was not increased to melt the slag; as a result, when the furnace was restarted, the temperature was raised rapidly, causing a large amount of slag to flow toward the slag outlet and leading to its narrowing. 5. On the other hand, it is caused by an increased opening angle of the Texaco burner. The opening angle of the Texaco burner has strict design specifications; after operating for an extended period, the burner wears out, causing the opening angle to increase. This leads to poor combustion, and more ash and slag are carried toward the furnace wall under high pressure. When enough slag accumulates, under the combined effect of gravity and gas pressure, it flows along the furnace wall toward the slag outlet. The slag accumulates at this outlet, causing it to shrink over time.
