The civil work for this project is nearly complete these days. How should space be reserved for equipment installation? Could someone with experience share some insights? Does it mean that as long as access is possible through the doors, there’s no need to reserve any space in the walls or create holes?
What device do you have? As long as the doors and windows are large enough to allow entry, there’s no problem. In our case, the electrical cabinets are lowered in through the doors and windows; industrial equipment is different, as some of it is very large and requires special space for installation.
Entry is possible from the pre-arranged door/window openings, the side gables, or the pre-arranged roof surface, that is, from the front, sides, and top; however, it is necessary to determine the most economical and safest method. At the same time, it is necessary to consider both the horizontal transportation of the equipment and its lifting into place in one go; using the crane available in the factory building would be the best approach.
One must be familiar with the drawings, paying special attention to the dimensions and weight of those larger, complete equipment units. It is best to go to the site in person with an experienced crane operator to take a look. Identify the areas that need to be reserved and bring them up to the owner as early as possible. Avoid rework by the civil engineering contractor. Another point is that when there are many devices, the order of lifting them is very important.
Proper lifting holes are prepared according to the dimensions of the largest equipment. The equipment is first lifted from the 1st floor using a winch to the corresponding floor levels, such as 2nd/F, 3rd/F, 4th/F, etc., and then transported to the area near the appropriate hole on that floor for lifting into place
As a supplementary note: Generally, a lifting hole is provided right above the equipment. By using embedded sleeves, it is necessary to take measures to prevent water leakage. In the case of large equipment, if there is already a pre-existing hole for the motor above the equipment, that hole can also be used as the lifting hole for the equipment
Thank you all for your active contributions. At my project site, the equipment is quite large and there are many different sections – chlorine compressors, electrolyzers, utility systems. I haven’t gone into too much detail.

During civil construction, the installation team may not have arrived at the site yet; some considerations are taken into account when designing all the holes for lifting purposes. As for cases where it is necessary to reserve space for beams, the installation team needs to consider the lifting plan in advance and put forward relevant requirements
