The petrochemical industry is increasingly leaning towards using armored cables, but the connection from the instruments to the cable trays has become a point of debate. According to the typical diagrams in the installation manuals, some believe that there is no need for flexible pipes or protective tubes; instead, a smaller cable tray can be connected from the main cable tray to the location where the instrument is located, and the cable can then be laid there, with angle steel used for support along the way. What are everyone’s opinions on whether cable protection tubes are still necessary these days?
The protective tube is still necessary; it also serves to provide equipotential connection, so it cannot be omitted.
Armored cables do not require flexible tubes; protective tubes are still used
