The material depends on the operating conditions; if the medium passing through the valve body is corrosive, a corrosion-resistant material should be chosen, with cost being another factor to consider.

The operating conditions in the electrolytic zinc production process are as follows: the fresh solution contains about 150 g/l of zinc and no acid; the waste solution contains about 160 g/l of acid and about 50 g/l of zinc, with chloride ions present in varying amounts, ranging from approximately 100 to 600 mg/l. 316L ball valves are commonly used in the industry. Is OCr18Ni9Ti the same as 321?
Reply to 4# jin*n616: Thank you. . It’s 321. A client previously chose valves made of this material for this application, but the performance was not satisfactory. 316L valves have now been installed on this process. I would like to recommend PTFE-lined valves, but I’m not sure if that’s feasible.
Either a steel lining with 4F or a steel lining with PE can be used; the temperatures are not high, so there’s no major issue. The option that is more expensive is also more durable.

Hehe, all the teachers know that lined valves can be used here; those who use valves surely know they can serve as a substitute. At the very least, it’s worth giving it a try. Otherwise, there’s no need to replace them every two months, right? . It’s just a matter of using some public relations tactics. . Thank you~
